Police probe death after man found at house in Birkenhead
Sep 28 2010 by Laura Jones, Liverpool Echo

DETECTIVES are today probing the circumstances surrounding the death of a 49-year-old Merseyside man.

Two women aged 43 and 47 from Birkenhead were arrested and questioned after the man was found dead at 10.15pm at an address in Craven Close, Birkenhead, on Sunday.

Police officers were called in by the ambulance service who were first on the scene.

Tests carried out now suggest the death is not suspicious.

A force spokesman said: “A post mortem has taken place to establish the cause of death and the results have been withheld pending the outcome of toxicology reports.”

Anyone who has any information can call Birkenhead CID on 0151 777 2265.

Anyone know if this is the reason the police were around the main entrance to Birkenhead Park on Conway Street at around 3:30pm today?
They looked like they were waiting to collar people on buses.
It did look that way but surely they wouldn't need that many police officers and riot vans?

Maybe there was a sale at the pine furniture shop over the way and they were expecting IKEAesque violence? think
