Birkenhead training provider QTS runs pilot scheme aimed at ‘Neets’
BIRKENHEAD’S Quality Training Services completed a pilot scheme to help unemployed youths improve their chances of finding work.
Reports claim that Neets (youths “not in employment, education or training”) can be susceptible to social problems in later life.
Together with Wirral council, The Wirral Wise Project Team and Connexions, QTS provided the 35-strong group with practical hands on experience in the different specialist areas of engineering and construction trades.
Each learner received an in-house certificate, a personal and social skills certificate and a health & safety in the workplace certificate, and it is hoped many will progress into training or employment.
QTS praised their “exemplary attendance and positive attitude.”
