Man wanted in connection with attempted robbery at Wirral railway station



BRITISH Transport Police have released CCTV footage of a man wanted in connection with an.

At about 9.30pm on Saturday, June 27, a 15-year-old boy and his girlfriend got off a train at Little Sutton station.

They were approached by a man who grabbed the teenager's collar, head-butted him and demanded his mobile phone.

The offender is described as being white, about 20 years old, between five feet 11 inches and six feet tall with broad shoulders and a shaven head.

At the time of the attempted robbery he was wearing a brown and beige retro style Adidas hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

Detective Constable Mark Douglas, of BTP CID, said: "This was a violent attack on a young couple who were minding their own business.

"We believe the offender got onto the train at Bromborough, Bromborough Rake or Eastham Rake and travelled to Little Sutton before assaulting the boy.

"I am certain that someone will recognise the man and am calling on anyone with information to come forward."
