Man wanted following attempted robbery

POLICE have released an E-fit photograph of a man wanted in connection with an attempted robbery in Wallasey.

At 11pm on Wednesday March 11, a 42-year-old man with cerebral palsy was walking along Brentwood Street.

He was approached from behind by a man who punched him causing him to fall to the floor.

The offender rifled through the victim's pockets but was disturbed by passers-by who came to the victim's aid.

He ran away, empty handed, in the direction of Poulton Road. The victim suffered minor injuries and was left shaken by the incident.

The offender is described as white around 20 years 5ft 10in to six feet tall, with short dark hair and slim build. He was wearing a dark coloured fleece top, with the hood pulled up, and dark trousers.
