Saltney Woman, 60, punched in face by teenage robbers
A WOMAN of 60 from Saltney was punched in the face in a vicious robbery in her own garden.
The robbery, which left the woman with facial injuries, took place just after 4pm yesterday at Shrewsbury Way, Saltney.
The woman had just come home from shopping when she noticed her garden gate was open, say Cheshire Police.
The two youths, who were in the garden, claimed they were hiding from someone, and asked to go into the house.
When the woman refused, she was punched in the face by one of the youths, who then stole her handbag, which contained cash and other valuables.
The second youth pulled the rings from her fingers, and the pair made their escape in the direction of St Mark's Road.
Police are now appealing for people who can identify the teenagers to come forward.
One is described as being of about 13-years-old, with short fair hair and a slim build.
He was wearing a grey hooded top with lighter grey hoops across it, and light beige corded trousers.
The second is said to be about 14 or 15-years-old, about five foot four inches with a slim build and short dark brown cropped hair.
He wore a dark red knitted hat, and a dark red hooded top on top of a black tracksuit top.
DC Steve Bellis is working on the case, and said: "This was a violent attack on a vulnerable lady who has suffered significant facial injuries as a result of this incident.
"We are appealing to anyone who recognises the description of these youths, or who saw them in the area at the time, to contact Chester CID on 01244 615579 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
