A property was repossessed and boarded up by Knowsley Housing Trust and a pit bull dog was seized. Police arrested six people for offences including possession of controlled drugs, drink driving, assault and sexual assault and seized four vehicles for no insurance.

Anti-crime leaflets were distributed to neighbouring homes.

Supt Martin Andrew, from Merseyside Police, said: "In partnership with our communities we are sending out a clear message that drug, gun and gang activities will not be tolerated."

"Local people should be assured that our ongoing commitment to them is to listen to their concerns and respond to them with positive action."

Residents were praised for their help in providing information about illegal activities.
