The former HMS Intrepid has caught fire while being dismantled in Liverpool, a Fire Service spokesman has said.
Twelve fire crews were called to the scene of the blaze at the South Canada Graving Dock after lagging and upholstery caught alight.
The 12,000 tonne vessel was built in 1964, decommissioned in 1991 and earmarked for disposal in 1999.
