A YOUNG father accused of injuring his three-week-old son appeared at Liverpool Crown Court.
Soldier Dean Hodkinson, 20, of Wallasey, is alleged to have caused grievous bodily harm with intent to the child, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
The offence is alleged to have occurred on August 3 and the injuries were discovered six days later when he was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital with a catalogue of injuries.
These included a broken shoulder blade, two fractured collar bones, a broken wrist and brain swelling.
Hodkinson had been due to enter his plea but this was adjourned until December 11.
A date for a trial, expected to last three to four weeks, was fixed to begin on March 30.
