Just noticed as i drove down Laird Street Birkenhead
that there is a new CCTV Camera being put up opposite
the Church?

Church >>> Co op >>> Bus Depot

Not St James church.
If your driving towards St James Church,
as you pass the Bus Depot on your Right keep going until
you pass the Co oP on the Right too and then look on the
Left Side of the road you will see a tall black post.

It has one of those 360 dome camera's and what looks like
a Transmitter / Receiver on the top. (Square Aerial).

If you look around a bit more there are camera's every where.

Bidston Moss Dual Carriageway near Tescos.
Beaufort Road at the Train Depot (Mini Roundabout)
There are not where you expect them.

Good or bad / undecided

If you are an acceptable member of society with nothing to hide, Like I know you are Mark, It can only be a good thing, to serve and protect.

Great thing imho, the more camera's the better. It deters crime and can play a vital role in the prosecution of criminals.

i read in the paper today : my granda fought in the war against natzi's, now we have cctv, held in custity for 28days with out being charged (and a few other things), thanks to labour, thanks for letting my grandad die for nothing.

Blame it on society matey, its actually more due to the liberties we have and people taking full advantage of them rather then everyone just wanting to plonk camera's everywhere.

At the end of the day, if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear, only the ... that are criminals have to be worried by increasing CCTV etc.

This camera is intresting as the Camera is not Facing down Carrington street the camera is facing up laird Street towards the malleby street camera which is on that little man island i think what its for is calculating speed of vehcles as you can do it with special equipment and i think the attenae at the top is for the Station based at Laird Street so police can monitor the Speed you are going cause people do Speed down laird street as the Camera for Carrington street is outside the old Johns Hair Shop so why would the Police need 2 Cameras i may be wrong but it looks obivious smile
