I get this in work, i think its b'cos am handling audio equipment (well thats what iv narrowed it down to)

I recomend one of those dangly earth straps(dont hang it from the rear tho) hang it somewhere in the centre of the car.Very good point

When you step out of the car, keep touching metal as you put your foot on the floor. I keep hold of the top of my door until I'm out of the car. If your passenger doesn't know this trick it gets them instead!

It's your shoes and the weather. Summer is terrible for this, before it rains or when it's humid, the air becomes more charged, and you're more likely to get the 'ahhh fk!!' when you touch something metal.

Push the door by the window glass ! you won't got a shock , fitting a earth strap is the only way to stop it . IT could be you polyester trousers..
