Wind your window up tony!! depending on what sort of fumes your talking about check your fuel tank hasn't got a small leak anywhere?

could be a number of things, like leaks, plastic bag/air intake/other plastic etc melting on the exhaust manifold.

Unfortunatly old engines do tend to smell a bit at times. frown

You checked the exhaust for a hole? I doubt you'd hear it blowing with that monstrosity of a backbox tease

Anyway, if you've gotta blowing exhaust and rusty footwells you'll end up with fumes in the car wink

Tony

Check the oil breather pipes to the air filter and carb, common for them to split. I Get fumes in the car from my oil breather as it gets sucked in through the vents, failing that drop round and i'll take a look.

Is it using more petrol that usual? And I'm not saying you might have a petrol leak, there's usually something wrong with the carb, I've had that before.

That would be the Breather pipes under the bonnet that Tony has disconected to fit a Performance air filter and just left the pipe hanging there smack I think that could be the fumes ??
