Are you sure it is the Clutch ?

Its not the squeeling from a loose fan belt is it?

I'm saying that because when you find the bite on the clutch you will
probabley rev it a little higher, with out even realising.

And the Noise can be from the belt skidding on the pully wheel.
Damp or a loose belt can cause the same results.

What may help is if you Rev it with out doing the clutch thing and see if it makes that noise?

If so its somthing to do with a pully / belt.
If not then you may be right and it is the clutch...

I dont know enough about clutches to help sorry frown

Squeek? I think that might be the clutch pedal mechanism, it has a rachet on it and it can sometimes make a squeeking noise - Hydraulic clutchs can make that noise too

Its commonly known as "Clutch Squeal" mate.

Its one of two things, either the clutch release bearing is worn or the clutch itself....

I would need to see the car to tell you exactly though think

how much would it cost to replace the release bearing? smack

The release bearing is normally included in a new clutch kit. You can do the bearing on its own, but if your taking the gearbox off its well worth changing the full clutch assy - they aint that expensive on Corsas smile

eek Sell it and buy one with a squeek free clutch, apparently they are a right PITA to change on Vectras frown

Seriously though, if your changing the Release bearing, change the whole lot - at least you know its all going to be good for the next 50k miles smile
