Its about time you made that thing of yours a bit faster matey think
Posted By: John WRX Re: I have my bits - 20th May 2005 9:59pm
leaving pistons as they are, will be runing it about 20 psi, the increase in power around the 50 - 80 mph mark is what im after, the turbo spools up and keeps going.
Engine should be ok (fingers crossed) if not its time for a brand new one

i presume you mean 50 - 80 BHP and not mph smack

You are hitting DANGER Zone running 20psi boost but you have a slightly larger intercooler to help cool the charge temperatures.

Have you worked out how to eliminate the Fuel Cut yet ?? Dont forget this kicks in at approx 16 psi.

fuel cut is eliminated by the remapped ecu mate.

I meant mph yeah, the pull in 3rd between those speeds will be immense

Shes coming together matey smile

At what point do your std injectors max out? That interwarmer wink should help, but can the injectors flow enough?

Have a look here to do the calculation smile

Pics up later on

Basically, without working out the increase in fuel pressure from the new fuel pump, and keeping injector duty cycles within the safe 85% you need 550cc injectors to safely support 360bhp

The increase in fuel pressure should help the std injectors, but maxing them out is quite dangerous - once they go above 85% duty cycle, they pulse so fast they can lock up and stop feeding a cylinder frown

What size are your std injectors matey?

All this talk is too technical for me but nice 1 john, hopefully beef it up.

standards are 550 from what i can gather, it was all mapped for a car running standard injectors so we should be okays smile
