Theres a right way and a wrong way to do everything.......

How to affix a rear view mirror.

  • Run car engine with the heaters on hot to warm the windscreen

  • Clean the old sticky pad off the back of the mirror and wipe with alcahol

  • PLace mirror on the dashboard so the hot air from the heaters warms it up

  • Clean area of windscreen and wipe with alcahol

  • Place some lubricant on the ball part of the mirror and ensure it moves freely

  • Stick the correct ford sticky pad (£0.70) onto the mirror and warm again

  • (The sticky pad goes Green to Screen)

  • Once the sticky pad is warm remove the protective backing and gently place the mirror onto the windscreen in the correct place first time

  • Only Use Moderate Pressure as it is very very easy to crack the windscreen by using exessive pressure

  • Hold the base firmly and adjust the mirror to the approximate correct position.

  • Do NOT Move the mirror for at laest 24 Hours to allow the sticky pad to set.

Job Done...... The main cause of these coming off is the mirror ball joint which is meant to move freely becomes too tight therefore pulls the mirror off due to exessive pressure being used to adjust the mirror. When replacing the mirror pad allways ensure the mirror ball joint is well lubricated and moves freely or the mirror will come off again.

dont use superglue at all, the glue just dries and cracks the glass
