This is a topic to post all flame related things in. I have a flamer video i made at CNW and ill post it up here real soon when i figure out how
Is it possible to make non-turbos flame at any decent level??? I mean its obviously not going to be anythin like yours scooby! but ive heard some people say it is decent on a normally aspirated engine if its over 1.5i and others say its not worth it unless you got turbo?
TUT TUT GUYS MY FLAME KIT AT CNW WAS FR FROM THE BEST

Flamer kits are NOT Guaranteed to work on any car, Turbo's do help a little. Any car with a catalyst will not work, it must be de-catted.
For the best results you need to add a source of fuel (Propane is most common) and this is where they start to look good.
So if i got a de-cat and then bought a "dragon" flamer kit, it would possibly give some sort of result?
Yeah, those dragon kits look quite good but i havnt seen one in action yet.
anyone suggest a place to fit one of these kits properly without messing it up? I just dont feel confident putting a whole in my backbox for the spark plug....which u need as far as i know lol....
Well you could ask the National Champion of 2004
hmmm i may just do that....PM! lol
LOL breaking the rules on revved up
way to go scooby lad keep them lighting an keep us warm matey
How recent are those pics scoob. The flames are so different to the ones i seen at CNW. Those are all lickety flames and at CNW they were hi pressure bunsun burner style. Are those 2 different generations of flamer kit or just different styles of triggerin the kit flames??????
Love it sooo much
you won't find any of that out scoop its TOP SERCET fella no one find out how he does it if everyone was tofind out how to do it scooby wouldn't be the only flamer of the year at main Event now would he
Lol, Scoop, yes i have 2 different designs of the flamer system.
As said above this latest one has been under development for several months now, i can do the Jet style flames (Afterburners) or i can produce these huge intense yellow flames also. It has took nearly a year to develop to the standards it is at now and i am still practicing to obtain the best results from it. The unly problem is that every time i do the testing i am melting my rear bumber more and more, if you look there is cracking and blistering on this current bumber which has only been on the car for approx 4 months or so
As tony said i wont disclose how i have done this flamer set-up as it will ruin the chances of retaiming my title of
UK Flamer Champion and the competition could copy my idea's.
Right peeps,
Made a video of the flames at CNW but i cant get it hosted so ill just pop up a few screenshots of it.Here we go
John and his mighty WRX
Jim in the gadgetmobile
And save the best till last NATIONAL CHAMPION jay in the scooby
There we have it peeps.Just a small taster of what is in my CW flamer vid.A few peeps have seen it but unfortunately i cant get it uploaded to anywhere! Wonder if webby can help.Enjoy peeps!
Dunno if you know this, but JohnWRX doesn't actually have a flamer kit on his car, his exhaust just does that naturally
Yeah, my scooby does that also, its turbo "Spitback" just like you see on rally cars, due to turbo over-run......
Johns appears to do it more than other cars i have seen though.
Yeah bit of a strange one mine but its quite funny
especially when people come up your ass, quick blip on the gas pedal and they soon back off
lol
awsome footage there scoop keep it coming fella you need to find out how to host it yourself lol
Great video!
could have had some better background music
lol
only messin bud, good job!
Thats NOT my music, thats compliments of Scoop
quote from USC staff about the flamer competition
"More track action ended with the first-ever exhaust flame-out competition down on the startline, with a huge selection of snarling cars flaming their exhausts together. All types of car and flame-system were represented, from Minis using a simple but vicious over-run system through to a wicked Scooby with twin-exhaust gas injection"
Wonder hu that could be hmmmm
i read today that fittin a atmospheric dump valve to a focus RS makes it pop and spit flames, especially if u have a de-cat,
The reason for this is simple, the MAS measured the charged air and lumps the correct amount of fuel in to make it run sweet but if u lift off it chucks all that boost out of the system and the car then runs mega rich and that often comes out of the exhaust still burning! with a normal recirculating dump valve tho the charged air is just put back into the intake tract where the pressure drops greatly but not completely
Neat eh?!
Scanned from Redline Magazine
Like to see them pull me and tell me to turn my flamer kit off.
Hmmmm, where is the switch ??????????????
Lol! Just a quick question, im not thinking of doing it but it is physically possable to fit a flamer kit to any type of Diesel or Turbo D?
Just got vision's of jay's van pinching the award from the scooby! Lol
Lookin nice. IS it the secret kit on there jay or is that just from backing off the throttle with the plug in the zorst running?
Gadgets are gettin better too.
U deserve shootin for that vid, wud rather hear the engine instead of crazy shite
it is very impressive mate i might even get a job or re painting the ceiling in work.
nice little tootle round town after aswell mate on way home lmao
It does have the secret weapon on it but the video was only showing the afterburner effect and not the secret weapon . The was no audio on the video as it was of my digital camera and not camcorder hence the crazyfrog overlay
just thought i would let you no that i saw you yesterday jay, you were in birkenhead and i was with my dad in his new shape corsa waiting to pull out of a road when you went past, just as you went past you must of changed gear and a little flame poped out, and i was like thats not very big but i carried on watching you while my dad was waiting to pull out of the road and when you got to a bend a just saw this big massive flame, i had forgoten just how big your flames are, looked really good, cant wait to see them close up
the best 1 has 2 be motorbikes lol, thought kim was gona have a heart attack
Let me explain what linsey is talking about, driving along last night keeping myself to myself and suddenly there was a "Now Then" right up my ass on a rev & Go scooter thing flaunting L Plates and thinking he was great, bit to close to my scooby for my liking so i give him a small flame as a warning to back off a little
I poped a rather large fireball from the exhaust and he drove straight through it as he didnt have enough time to take avoiding action. He looked like one of them stunt men from a action film
Fireball flame a bit like this :
The moral of the story : Driving too close to the vehicle in front can be dangerous
was so funny tho jay, i was in the back so got to c him hammer his arms on the bike to try n stop lol
Is that your engine exploding out of the arse end???
ANy more pics to show size?
Lol I love the Flamer Jay, great story about that scooter lol I'd love to be able to do that !
Sorry, no more pics. This one was taken last night. I will attempt to get some more soon.
You really have to see it to believe it.
I singed my eyebrows last night from the heat and that was standing at the drivers door
Yo, this threads hot!

Who would be able to decat a jag and fit a dual flamer???Would the decat do much harm to the engine???
Cybox should be able to De-Cat for you mate, but you may loose performance ?
You need to do some homework on your car and back pressure mate.
You can have a flamer fitted without de-catting but you need to add a source of fuel before the tailpipe. Butane kits are available for this.
Where do you get butane kits though, and how do you use them??
butane may be the best on the jag mate, cos altho i dont think the de-cat and natural approach damages engines,i wouldnt test that theory on a jag engine.butane works by spraying butane into the exhaust pipe just infront of the back box,and igniting it with a spark plug, operation is by opening the butane bottle which flows the gas,may be able to fit a trigger button too so u have control over it from the front seat, maybe jay can elaborate?
Sorry, but....
...butane flamer kit, on the jag, how very
your being very gay related latley stuy, i am begining to be worried bout you, 1st daz and now me. ha ha ha ha ha
I wasnt calling you gay Rhys, I just think a flaming Jag would look gay
Fast and furious style flames here Check this out, possibly the best flaming action u will ever see.And if im not mistaken its on a corsa!!!
yeah i know theyre bigger and more of a wow factor, but the afterburner look WHILE driving is ace
Anyone remember this, found it on streetfire (obv)
From last years nationals, not much attention paid to jim and the quality is piss poor, also for me it was buffering every 7 secxonds so took 10 minutes to watch it,god damn
after burners are easy to do though i was doing them all them time like scooby was.
whats impressive is what comes after

I soon will have a turbo and maybe some flames
Not like scoobys though as i carnt go buying rear bumpers every week (m or is the exhaust going to come out the back
)
