was Daz106's idea in dazza's topic about mapping about getting a bluefin.

Firslty, does any1 know, can you use the same bluefin on a number of fords or does it set itself so u can only use one bluefin on one car??

If you can use them on a number of fords, does any1 want to chip in and get one?

Theyre 300, i'm willing to chip in, and my mate 2 mates whove got fords will chip in, so any1 else fancy it? (if its possible that is)

Its basically a resistor, that Im guessing gets put "in line" on the afm or temp sender wire.

It fools the ECU in to thinking the car is running cooler than it is and can only richen the mixture up.

DONT ANY1 BUY ONE!! they arent a laugh by any means! Theyre very dodgy indeed! my mate had one for his saxo and it just completely buggered his car up! it was going slower and he had to pay to get all his ecu re-done etc.

The bluefin is like a hand-held machine that plugs into your cigarette lighter or somethin or service connection and re-maps the original ecu for better perfomance. From what ive heard on the focus owners site quite a few people have noticed their cars jumping in bhp after using the bluefin! dunno tho!

are you suggesting that we'd all share a bluefin chip? confused

ah well nice idea!

its a good idea if i do say so myself,
If the bluefin will re-map a number for fords then you should all go for it

no i dont mean an actual chip,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....=7945675719&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

^it says you simply plug it in and it can re-program your ecu. what i'm saying is, can you like plug it in on my car say, re-map the ecu, then plug it in on your car and do yours?? thats what i was askin originally, do u think you can use it on as many fords as you like or does it recognise your car when you first use it so that you can only use it on your car?

ahhh, i get you now, do you think it'd work?
Posted By: rossi-foci Re: Bluefin - 14th Jan 2005 12:35pm
i think it might, ive asked the seller a question on ebay, i'll see what he says if it does it would be worth investin. if there is 6 of us willing to chip in its only 50 quid each.

It says is you dont notice any power gains then re-set it to its original setting and send it back for a full refund! so he must be confident it works!

Sounds interesting - you can re-map your cars ECU smile

Ideally I would have thought it better to have it set up on a rolling road where all factors can be monitored. but I hear what the site is saying about the bluefin

I think manufactors set teh timing and fueling to a compramise for economy / performance / and fuel grade. Provided the car car has and EPROM chip, rather than a PROM it may unload a few bhp smile

Bluefin only works on post 1995 engines and i dont know about it bein universal or peticular to each engine.Ford have a machine that can do exactly that to ur ecu but they use it to get the settings perfect for economy bla bla bla, it can be used for max tweakage tho and they charge 80 quid per run. Ill see if my bro will get ur cars on it and tweak em instead of economisin em. His boss may not be happy if he knew tho

Only just read this - Bluefin will only work on ONE car - you plug it in, it swops your cars data for the bluefin data at the push of a button, if u wanna swop it back you press another button.

Since your cars original data is on Blurfin it CANT be used again!
