the only down side to the car is the passenger door lock. I think someones been at it with a screw driver, it still works fine but theres a hole just under the lock. Any one know how mcuh de-locking would cost? itd be sensible to do that i think. And it hasnt got alloys either so ill have to do with frisbies for a few months but im sure ill live!

its a 1.4 8 valve with exactly the same looks as the GTi but low insurance which is good for me after crashing in me 1st year! I think its got 75 bhp standard. I think ill get some afterburners or lexus lights, tints, smoothed(locks and badges), 15s or 16s an slammed. I dont wana go too crazy!

hello!! i picked up my car today and im in love with it! just been serviced so i think everythinks ok with it!! YAY!! couple of points tho! when some theiveing liitle bast*rd tried to steal it (not from me) they not only bust both locks but tried bending the passenger side door back and now its not flush! can i fix this at all? and one other thing my brakes 'judder' slightly should i be concerned?
Posted By: Ando Re: My new quicksilver! - 5th May 2004 9:35pm
That judder sounds like warped disks, you can get them skimmed or get new ones, I'd go for some grooved ones if I were you, (you can get your currents grooved), reduces brake fade (plus you're getting a mod while replacing something!)

Scooby will know where to get them from, (or might even supply them himself)

its just been serviced tho wudnt they of told me about this?
Posted By: Ando Re: My new quicksilver! - 5th May 2004 10:27pm
It's not something you can see...the brakes need to be heated up a little for you to notice the judder, right?

Brake warp is caused by heavy braking and people leaving their foot on the pedal while stopped, (which also blinds some drivers behind you wink ).

well smart your new car mate, just sort out the minor niggles with the brakes n stuff and it'll be spot on

It happened to my dads scooby, I had a go at him about it coz he always used to leave his foot on the brake even when I told him not to. He had to buy four new discs, which weren't cheap as they're bigguns. Guess what, he doesn't sit on the brake any more - lol!

Great to hear you got hold of your car mate. For the prob with the door talk to an accident repair garage, or give kerr chan a call on the old dog and bone?

Haha, I bet you're glad to see the back of that micra! laugh

if u only just bought it from a dealer surely u got some sort of warranty with it? personally i would tell them to sort it out. motors aint cheap and even tho its used it should be in a reasonable state. a bent door aint reasonable, and brakes comes down to health & safety...get them to fix it! by the way i think they a really nice car!

mine judder but only when im braking from 100mph+ on that private test track that everyone goes to........

they brake fine all other times at normal speed when driving on the road though.

the brakes are standard calipers, cross drilled+vented discs, green stuff pads

how worried should i be? <img border="0" alt="confused" title="" src="graemlins/cwemotions051.gif" />

Not at all mate. It's normal at that kinda speed in a car as small as a fezza. If you were driving a jag or summat it wouldn't happen - it's just that small cars aren't built for err, for test track speeds.

u will av 2 get sum pics up so we can ava look

ahh laffin, i dont fancy replacing my brakes as they're not exactly cheap!

cheers for the peace of mind laugh <img border="0" alt="cool" title="" src="graemlins/cwemotions049.gif" />
