I heard that an easy replacement for a decat system is just to take the exhaust of the diesel version of your car (if one available) and tar-dar a cat free system for next to nothing.

however is this true or a big fat lie

wouldnt the bore/pip size affect it?

Chances are the exhaust will be totally different on a diesel version.

The engines will be different, and therefore down pipe position and fitment will also be different (especially if its a TD).

TBH I should think it would be much hassle to remove the std pipe (with cat), cut the cat out, and weld some straight though section in smile
