My first one was with my dad in his old Citroen BX, doing 60 along the dual carraigeway, a truck was overtaking us when some **** in an Uno pulled out of a lay-by directly in front of us. Of course there was no-where to go but straight into the back of him. The Uno was a write-off, and the BX had a cracked front indicator lens
My first one with me driving; I was on my own going along Brimstage road towards Clatterbridge to pick up some friends from spital. It was cold and it'd been sleeting, so the roads were very slippy. As I came out of Brimstage I slowed right down to 30mph to take the first sharp right hander, but the road was like a sea of ball bearings. Despite doing my best to pull out of the oversteer I ended up facing the other direction, sliding backwards at the same speed I'd started the bend! The back o/s wheel hit the kerb and the front slid round, up the kerb, and through the fence. Damage: Mangled front sub-frame, twisted front o/s wishbone, de-rimed front tyre, badly twisted front o/s wing, buckled rear o/s wheel. Cost to repair: £850.00 (not including new wheels)
