Nope thats ya lot

Right, I think Air-Research is another name for Garret - I think its a T3 turbo

Position of the actuator suggests its a Cossie T3, but the pictures are a bit unclear - does it have any A/R .?? Stamps on the housings?

Thinking about it, its not a Cossie turbo think

Cossies are top mount meaning the dump pipe faces the same way as the flange to the manifold - they go in different directions on that turbo.

Need more info mate.

Am trying to get more pics and the A/R stamp code - I thought it was a Escort T3 rather than cossie.

Lets see what I can dig up tho

Could be an RS Turbo T3, but not Escort Cossie T3

If its the RS Turbo T3 they aint really up to much frown Very small in terms of T3s so they cant produce high power output and more laggy than the T25's on the fezzys.

One word ........... Scrabble tease

Well I looked on eBay and found that its not a Cosworth or Escort turbo frown The flanges are in different places so that kind of puts a downer on my plans but I always keep a back up plan wink

Right, this is getting on my nerves now as that pic is soooo bad. I think it is an escort t3 now as the flanges are in the right places (s2 not s1). Also that pic looks like the turbo is proped up with a metal bar which thrown me abit.

Can anyone else help?

why do u have no better pics or info on this?

Are u watching it on Ebay or summut?
Posted By: Dazza Re: Turbo Identification - 16th Feb 2006 2:06pm
Its not on eBay no. I know a lad that has it, and this is the only pic he has given me - I have asked for more with different angles etc but he keeps forgetting :@

Thing is, if its what I want I'll have it so its his loss
Posted By: Dazza Re: Turbo Identification - 16th Feb 2006 2:15pm
Right, am nearly 100% sure its an Escort turbo as everything is perfectly matched - I could have came to this decision sooner if I had a better pic

So the deal is on laugh laugh laugh

wouldnt a FRST be a better choice mate, the whole car,or are u doin this just cos u can.Cos a RST is tunable to 230+BHP with the 1.9 route

Congrats on 4300 posts exactly tease

I know CVH turbo engines can produce good bhp gains but they are still only 8v and upto 400cc less - never mind the torwue difference.

There are many many differences between the two engines but the zetec will take more, heres a typical example: FRST conrods good for say 230/250bhp, Zetec conrods good for 450bhp.

Its more model technoligy but alot more advantages over the old CVH, dont get me wrong its great and all but I think zetec turbo wins the battle.

The american tallblock 1.9 engines are of short supply, and even then that doesnt give the full 2000cc's against its predicessor

wahay "43" the magic number

aka 43F sqn,where i work

good point mate, spose if ur gonna spend a lot on an engine u may as well start with the best u can.How much power u goin for u ur 2.0ZT fez?

Well as I say it will be a long project, am going to enjoy the Fiesta how it is until its finsihed as am buying another 2.0 engine as the base.

I'll set up a project page soon enough once this come together alittle bit more so everyone can read the progress but it will take a while to complete.

estimated power out put: 250bhp, am using this as am extremely rough guide as my friends 1.8ZT is putting out 230/240bhp from relitivly mild engine mods
