hate them and dont really like the corsa either,

well the corsa is the new nova??!! just lookat wot every 1 drives now!! but the nova will always be a scallys choice! hense the reason i dont like them because of there conection with the scally. + the fact that i looks horid, it looks like a box with a bonnet and some wheels!!

Luckily more and more novas are ending up on scrappy's, i was at the lights the other day, and had some hot shot in a 1.2 nova with Neon lights and alloy wheels revving the balls out of it and looking and laughing at my car with 4 passengers innit.

Soon wiped the smile of his face when he became familar with the arse end of my car I friggin smoked him with a full car.

I had a Nova as my second car, it is ok to drive etc but i did the right thing peeps & wrote it off!!!!!!!

I've gotta agree with penguin, Nova's are the ultimate metal box with wheels. I can't think of anything to like about them.

actually jimbo i have driven an astra & vectra. only astra's worth considering are mk 1 GTE's and mk 3 GSI's IMO. as 4 vectras...well, its a comfy car...err, nice ashtray...err, its deffo overweight, underpowered (for the engine spec) and IMO can't stand the sight of em! Vaux's from H reg to Y all look the same to me m8. don't even like the calibra m8...uuuuhhhh! jeremy clarkson summed that 1 up perfecto...cavalier in a designer shellsuit. as i say only IMO.

Novas are the ultimate boy racer car as every ***** idiot whos had one thinks there Colin Macrae an tries to race everything.
Plus there the ppl who give us modifiers a bad rep round here as its always them screwin their car round car parks.

have 2 disagree!!! novas can be made 2 look really!!! there are sum sheds out there with scumbag scallys in em but when i went to the p.v.s show last year there were sum mint novas that even if u hate them u wuld ssay they looked nice!!! ive had 1 and would defo buy 1 again!!!

i hate people who drive nova's who think they're amazin with their Peco big bore exhaust on their 1 litre merit! full on modded nova's CAN look nice however i think that its a waste of the 10k that you would have to spend on it. in my opinion corsa's arent much better either. but thats my opinion.

I like the car itself its the boyracers who bomb them around who give the car a bad reputation.

They are actually an ok car to drive I think... A good car for first time buyer's as so are the Corsa's but I reckon they are starting to get a bad rep too!

I had 2 Nova SR MK2 modded, had one about 3 months then wrote it off, eventually i bought another and had it 3 weeks exactly then wrote that one off too!!!

they're good for a first car cos they're cheap, reliable and the engines are basic so you can do your own work on them even if you're a beginner, at the end of the day i reckon in a few years the scooby and evos will be boy racer cars and everyone will be slagging them off, the nova has had its day but it ain't that bad

I used to think that they look alright once they were modded, but ill agree that its the scallies that give them the bad rep...

I like the Nova. As said by other people, they are cheap, mostly reliable and very easy to mod. I don't think they are the scally car of choice anymore. So many have been written off and/or scrapped by now that there honestly aren't many left on the roads. The ones that are left tend to be well looked after. Lots have the 2 litre XE engines and some even the turbo'd LET engines.

There were some nice examples at the Performance Vaux Show on Sunday.

There are far more scallys driving round in Saxo's and Corsa's these days, with their stupid exhausts and burberry...

nova's are too common as are there replacment the corsa!! this could sound rich comin from a 206 owner which are also very common but my model the gti 180 ive only ever seen 2 of!! just coverin my back!! ha

i had one and there nt no room in them. but they go quite well ,most are rust buckets and end up like mine in the scrap yard but not all vauxhalls are s**t.

im not a big fan of nova's probably due to the load of half modded rusty ones i see driveing round but they can look good when modified right with the right amount of time and money spent on them

i hav to kinda sit on the fence cos 2of my mates drive novas and i hav a corsa, but i do think the corsa is a vast improvement to the nova in many ways an yeah ther are alot of scallys with burberry drivin around in em but i recon any1 can make thier own personal stamp on a car

novas are ok the gte or gsi even the sri ones are ok. I drive a corsa i got one because its was chaper to insure then its rivals fiesta's, clios, micras. I like the way thet drive and i am comfortable with it its only a 1.2 mind but i dont mind payin £320 a year for insurance, ai am saving up for something quicker savin like mad i really want a Nissan Sunny GTi-R i have 4 mates that have them they wicked and very quick

Good bit of news for ya all. My dad has just thrashed a nova to killing point in his diesel fiesta. Going over the bidston bypass and he had this goon in a nova pull up at the lights. It sat revvin its standard car and then as they got off a nice big cloud of smoke spread from under the bonnet. He thought he was gr8 until then.
oh yeah by the way my dads fiesta is a 1.8.lol

I cant **** novas of for being like a box because my car is a true box... don't like the scally styleee ones but they can look good and go well (twin engined ;-)) if done right... one thing iv noticed about them is that they are always getting written off!!!

wel u all seem 2 hate novas on here i bought mine a few month ago cause ive just booked my test and i thought it be good 4 a first car plus a lot of my mates have em e.g gtes gsi 2litre 16v turbos and my other mates had cavs so the novas rubbed of on me so i bought a 1litre nova wid peco exzausht and its geting work done il post pics up of it now in another section.

I'd have a AX GT over a Nova SR/I as they are much better, a saxo VTR/S over a GSI but i wouldnt mind driving a 2 litre.

They sound something special.

As far as Novas go, I want to get one soon to transplant a turbo engine. I've heard nothing but good things after they are converted, they are so light, stupidly fast fellas. And plebs driving round with Novas with the led's? Thanks for the bad reputation!!!

jay, y do u love novas. every single mod costs more than the car itself. if u can afford 5k doin a car out u must be able to afford the initial outlay to buy a better car.ie civic mk3, or the later escorts. my car was/is my current car. my shrek and it is personal preference,escorts are ok motors and i think at the time there was no sexier motor for the price i paid for mine(within insurace limitations) at least the escort is a modern shape. I hate square cars.escorts are gonna be classics one day i assure u, wen is a nova or a 306 gonna be a classic(never) the mk1,2,3 and nearly 4 escorts have reached classic status already aswell as the mk5cossie.The mk6 rs200 and GTi will definately reach classic status in 10 yrs. but hey lets not **** eachother. u like wot u like.ur car not mine.

Within the next 2-3 years you will be having exactly the same conversation about Corsa's

Rliability wise, Vauxhall aint to bad compared to the competition.
