this is my bmw 318is mtec coupe which i picked up for £250!it does have cooling issues,and needs a little paint.i reckon this will be anice motor once i've had the work done.

jobs i'm gonna do/get done...

*sort cooling system out(hope i dont need a head gasket!!!)
*both rear quarters and boot painted
*full service

still undecided on what rims to go for but i think 18's are the size of choice.

think i've sorted the cooling issues out,there was an air lock in the cooling system!there is a fault with the fan but thats cheaper than a head gasket by a couple of quid...once i sort this out its time to get the quarters painted and the rest of the car mopped,cant wait to get this on the road!

got my new wheels on at last,an got a guy comin out to do the bodywork in the next week or so,stuff's finally startin to happen!

its taxed & motd now,had to change both rear springs(both snapped!)and changed the near side front arm and adjust the handbrake.it started to overheat again so im waiting for payday to replace the whole cooling system!

takin the water pump off tomorrow,already took the stat out and think it has the wrong radiator on as the temp switch aint where it should be!

Chris, you should be able to help on this? (he fitted my new rad which was from a different cc and had to adjust a few things)

getting a new rad/waterpump/thermostat etc this friday,fingers crossed it will be ok then!if not chris mate ur gettin a call!

no probs bud smile if you need a hand fitting anythin cant be arsed ill do it on the cheap. you've got my number wink can get you in asap.

TBH before you buy anything check the small items first rad cap, take the old water pump and check it check for air, etc etc

fitted a new (correct one!)radiator,thermostat and water pump this afternoon,now the car doesnt think its a kettle an keep boilin over!dead happy now,all good!

but has yours ever thought it was a kettle?

carefull of discovery head gasket problems as well mate !!! my beemer had problems with air locks after i broke the water outet on the back of the head when replacing the clutch took ages to get the air locks out!

Yes, dependent on who you go to they can be upwards of £40

Pattern ones are worth less, shame Mccoys ripped our kid off for his std vaux V6 one. £10 he got. worth £50 at the time.
