That is one beast of a car you have there mate. I am sad to see the scooby go, but that is a good replacement. The styling and the I.C.E are defo off PIMP MY RIDE. Can't wait to see it in person, but I will have to wait as I can't get to the next meet.

Keep the opinions coming and any suggestions.
Posted By: AX_125 Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 12th May 2005 1:55pm
Make sure you keep it alarmed at all times, keep the key out of view of your letter box at home, keep the car locked when driving at night/poor lit areas make sure it has a good alarm.

My boss had a similar one nicked using the hook on a length of bamboo, plus nearly got it car jacked a couple of times.

These things brand new are stolen to order.
Posted By: Scooby Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 12th May 2005 2:23pm
I'm not being funny or notin but i would shoot anyone who attempted to
enter/access my property to get the keys and as for as Car-Jacking goes,
well they have to get past me first..... You think i am going to let a
beauty like this slip away....

Its got a Clifford top alarm system on it and Tracker system 2 fitted also.
CCTV monitered and a weapon awaiting anyone who may try.

... dont bother me at all, you just need to speak their language.......

Some more pictures just added in the first few posts thumbsup

You do have a good point, and we did have a good discussion about this a couple of weeks ago, suppose if it were my car i would be quite anxious that jealous people didn't key it/mothers didn't bang their doors in to it etc.

But a very nice looking car.

Is it likely to see off road action any time soon?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 12th May 2005 2:45pm
you don't really need performance mods rangey, its the kind of car you cruise in so every1 can see exactly how quality it is! it looks all very well done to a very high quality and you should just keep it clean and enjoy, but hey maybe an exhaust to put ur own personal touch on it!

i want it, wot else can i say, you are the envy of wirral mate, over the moon for you mate, sound system is immense, and the rims hurt your eyes in the sunlight, all that you need now is a skin head, about 10 stone extra in weight and about 2 foot in height wink

The Scooby will be going up for sale in the near future, keep your eyes peeled.....

Lambo Doors think think think
Posted By: spinking Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 16th May 2005 12:54am
Reverse lambo doors at the front and normal lambo doors at the back or the otherway around nobody in the country has reverse lambo doors (i think) getting plans drawn up for my car as reverse lambo doors nobody has em on a e-30 we are just trying to get the weight right get it done. Or get suicide doors at the back and leave fronts standard.

What do you think ?? Stick with the black look or chrome it up to match it up with the blingin wheels ??
Posted By: Gary Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 7th Jun 2005 6:12pm
chrome in my opinion mate
Posted By: aceritz Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 7th Jun 2005 7:09pm
bring back the scooby, only joking, chrome mate, looks nice,
are these just stick on tho, or is it a complete replacement grille.
is it a range rover part or an after market ones, cos ones i have come across that are aftermarket, aint that good a fit
Posted By: Scooby Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 7th Jun 2005 7:33pm
They are aftermarket ones, could afford the real things at the mo smack

Not sure if they are a full grille or stick on jobbies ? Probs stick on jobbies but thats good as the front grille has been smoothed and sprayed black unlike more range Rovers which are simply black plastic and not colour coded.
Posted By: DavidB Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 7th Jun 2005 7:48pm
May as well go the full chrome hit, just go totally over the top, there's not many around here. wink
Posted By: dikky5 Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 7th Jun 2005 8:17pm

Posted By: scoop Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 14th Jun 2005 3:01pm
I say chrome, but only if its real chrome. Surely u cud just get chrome slats from B&Q and fit them urself mate? Also think those lights need work IMO fella those covers are proper farmer giles

[Linked Image]

What do you guy's think ??
Posted By: djrenegade Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 27th Jun 2005 2:23pm
i think the 22" look bigger than the 24" on them pics lol

nah keep the 24" chromes cos they are sweet
Posted By: Scooby Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 27th Jun 2005 6:06pm
Oops, forgot to scale them down, thats just my photoshop skills matey....

Guess i was being lazy. Obviously the 22's would be slightly smaller but it gives a guide to what the new ones would look like on it think

Whats everyone else think ??
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 27th Jun 2005 6:13pm
keep the chromes matey, looks blingin, why you thinking of goin to 22's?
Posted By: Scooby Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 27th Jun 2005 6:27pm
The tyres are simply a tad too big and catch the arch very occasionally, but i am fussy and it does me head in....

Thinking if i drop to 22's this will get my heart into the vehicle a bit more ??
Posted By: Cali_16v Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 27th Jun 2005 9:18pm
i say still sell it and start a fresh new project. that way you can get what you want and poss a nice balance of p.i.m.p and speed.
Posted By: maverick Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 28th Jun 2005 11:10am
If thats the main prob with the rangy, then yes I would change to 22". Would have to a set of crome again thou. Then you would keep the same affect, just a little bit different.
Posted By: Scooby Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 28th Jun 2005 7:26pm
Just been offered a swap for the Range Rover think

Quote
Do you fancy a swap for a BMW 530i with full Breyton racing conversion? Go here to view the pics www.deadly.eclipse.co.uk The car has a FBMWSH, just 21,800 miles on the clock and all the extras apart from sat nav..... but that's for women who can't read maps anyway! It sits on 20" Breyton rims. As not quite as big as yours, but still very nice. I'm afraid I too have fallen foul of the kerbside and scuffed the wheels! My car also has a very low front spoiler which has been subject to stone chipping. It could do with a touch up.

What does everyone think i should do ?? Its tempting i must say......
Posted By: paul_ax Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 28th Jun 2005 7:45pm
it is very nice looks nice and tidy i would go 4 it but it is up 2 u at the end of the day smile
Posted By: djrenegade Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 28th Jun 2005 8:08pm
i dont think u should do it, i think you should get a high performance sports car or keep the scooby and I have said that all along, which means getting rid of the rangey but not in that way, a swap for that would be ridiculous, its a very nice BMW, but not at all worth your rangey.
Posted By: maverick Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 28th Jun 2005 8:33pm
Thats a sweet BMW. It would be alot different from what you had. Not sure wheather you should do it or not. What are the sats on the car.
Posted By: lazy_ben Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 28th Jun 2005 9:11pm
You'd be stupid not to. I love Beemers!
Posted By: Scooby Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 28th Jun 2005 9:16pm
Hmmmmm... I must admit i am quite tempted, just e-mailed him asking for more info and specs especially on the conversion.

I have had several beemers in the past and they are georgous and such a nice drive. 530's are quite quick and this conversion on top, well its got to shift a bit for a heavy car.

More opinions needed peeps think
Posted By: spinking Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 28th Jun 2005 9:18pm
Think i have seen that at a couple of shows this year?.

If it is the 1 it goes like stink and sounds sweet.

What would you do when you got it though?

Not alot to do to it to sort of put your touch to it.

Also wouldnt turn heads like the ranger.

This commin from a bm fan aswell. I would say no me scoob.
Posted By: Scooby Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 28th Jun 2005 9:25pm

go for it! happy
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 29th Jun 2005 12:04am
I'd go for it Jay smile I'd say its not as "look at me" as the Range Rover, but its a down right gorgeous car, its an 02 reg car with bugger all miles on and a shed load of goodies with it, not to mention some gorgeous rims and a racing conversion thing, that must of set him back a bit, well the advert says £45k, even if its half true its a lot of dosh!

[Linked Image]

Dont not get it because people wont look at it as much as the Range Rover, get it because its a lot more practical, probly cheaper on juice (just lol) and the people that do stop and look can and will appriciate just how nice a car it is, and not just think "wAH lad onto dem maSSif khrome rimzzzz me m8 jobBo ad dem on iZ saXslow " cool
Posted By: WhiteEvo Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 29th Jun 2005 12:18am
If your after invisibility, luxury and you still want awesome performance why don't you look at an Audi S8 or A8 4.2 Quattro.

Just got this reply via E-Mail from the owner :

Quote
The car has extras as follows:

1. full Breyton bodykit - front valance (stone chipping is apparent due to it being so close to the ground and my 30 mile round trip to work each day!) rear valance, side skirts, M5 bootlip spoiler, Schnitzer (debadged) roofline spoiler and schnitzer mirrors.

2. Breyton big brake conversion - basically enlarged vented and crossdrilled disks with larger calipers - but I've seen your Subaru, so you probably already knew that!

3. Breyton Ecu re-map, giving the car improved perfomance with decent MPG.

4. Twin exit back box for aesthetic appeal.

5. 20" Breyton alloys. Some scrubbing is apparent - weathering around the valves too. Some tyres will be required for the MOT. A set of very good part worns can be obtained for as little as £280.

6. Factory privacy glass.

7. Uprated suspension components lowering and enhancing the ride without losing comfort.

Inside, the car is fitted with heated sports leather, aluminium trim, OBC, individual aircon, auto dim mirror, mfsw, cruse control etc etc.

I had the car serviced at Bowker bmw in October last year and it has three green lights remaining.

I have all the documents, hand books etc, tracker details (not subscribed,) the car is due it's first MOT but as I was cosidering selling it I thought I'd see what happened regarding a sale first.

An amazing 6 disk CD changer and BMW business head unit is also fitted............ lol.
Well, I am liking that reply.... think

The rims looks FAR to cheap for the car, would look so much nicer on some classy Alpina rims

gotta agree with you there matey.

i wouldnt do it personally mate, youd be gettin a cheaper pimp car for your bit more costly pimp motor. doesnt realy make any sense to me
Posted By: Scooby Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 11th Jul 2005 7:25pm
The rims look to bling for the car.

The tyres are far too low a profile and its been lowered too much, just dosnt look right somehow....

Pitty you cant get that Black BMW
Posted By: Sanity Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 15th Jul 2005 12:21pm
Or a Jaguar S-Type R - they are rapid and quicker than an S8. I just traded mine in for my new Range Rover - strangely enough, the Rangie has the same engine as the S-Type R (4.2 Supercharged V8) which was just lovely!
Posted By: saz2004 Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 18th Jul 2005 3:13pm
its nice but its no way near as nice as the range rover and definatly not worth the same price!! dont do it jay!!

hi again she has a full bmw service history bar onw which was done at an independent garage but is still stamped the last full service being at 87,000 miles when she went for her m.o.t in jan bmw said she was not ready for another yet her mileage is now at 99,000. she is hpi clear as far as i know well i hope so anyway have had her for a year and have had no probs! as for what kind of deal i am looking at i have no idea because i have no idea what you are hoping for yours if i know a price for yours then i can see what sort of money we are looking at as have only got limited funds myself.
cheers again
Paul
What should i do ??
Posted By: scoop Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 29th Jul 2005 6:53am
IMO you should go for cold hard cash mate. Any new car in the equation and who knows what will happen? the scoob may get kicked to the kerb again. Although that TreVoR is sweet! How much a TVR of that age worth. If i were in your boots I'd just look at securing 17K+ in my back pocket. If it involved Swappin the range for a TVR then sellin the TVR so be it but wouldnt get another car with plans of keepin as u have the PERFECT car already and im sure all that money would really do you well
Posted By: Scooby Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 29th Jul 2005 11:37pm
Been offered a swap for this also amongst about 30 other cars think

Tempting i must say, 5,000 cc engine, Hmmmmmm.....

Opinions needed peeps think
Posted By: scoop Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 30th Jul 2005 1:23am
I just dont know any more! Its your choice matey and jesus knows what you can afford. Id hate to see the scooby get kicked to the kerb. I think u shud just sell it and be happy with the money. Whats the going rate of the above TVR? if its ledd than what you think the range rovers worth tell him no and SELL the rangey. thats my 2p mate and always will be
Posted By: Scooby Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 30th Jul 2005 1:38am
Been looking about and the chimaera 500 is worth approx £18,000 happy

But, i could keep it for a few weeks considering it has 5.0 V8 engine, Rear Wheel Drive, No Traction Control, No ABS, No Airbags. Loving it...

Also runs 320 BHP with 440NM of troque thumbsup
Posted By: jimbo4x4 Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 30th Jul 2005 2:40am
TVR's are ****ing mental, do it, just don't kill yourself in it.
Posted By: Scooby Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 30th Jul 2005 2:45am
Well it beats gettin run over crossing the road and being hit by a bus....

I could think of worse ways to Die think

So come on peeps, more opinions needed......

Just got this e-mail about the TVR think

Quote
Hi Scooby, i knwo what u mean about things getting crazy with e-mail etc, i have a bike on e-bay ending the same time as your motor and u wont belive the swaps etc i have been offered lol
milage on car is 40, 000
yep its hpi clear
its the very limited etd chrimeara 500, with the 5 ltr engine ( less then 300 made ), so you have the kudos of that, probably one of the fastest cars u can buy, 0-60 in well under 4 secs, and sounds unbelievable
no faults but it being a TVR its wise to be in the AA, they are know for not being the most reliable car in the world, i have had no trouble though, and all parts are cheap coz its basicly landrover, rover and ford parts
yes lots of history and its in the garage now having a complete servive and check over
deffo no back seats, but plenty of room behind for some PROPER ICE, which is what was going to be my next job ( i had no intention of getting rid to be honest, until i saw your motor )
tax runs out end of Aug, but depending how much is on yours etc i will happily tax it etc, mot till next year but same applies will happily put 12 months on if your car has etc
i live in conwy so only bout 45 mins away which is nothing really
Either way anymore questions feel free to ask, and good luck with what ever you decide mate catch u soon
Max power - 340bhp @ 5500rpm
Max torque - 350ft.lbs @ 4000rpm
Standing quarter mile - 12.2 secs
0-60 - 4.1 secs
0-100 - 10.2 secs
Posted By: jimbo4x4 Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 30th Jul 2005 5:03pm
Do it do it do it, even if you only keep it for a short while. I would love to be able to say I'd owned a TVR.
Posted By: Gary Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 30th Jul 2005 5:15pm
yep i know you should swap deffo, unless you really need the cash for the sale, although i know which would be easier to sell which would be the TVR anyway
Posted By: dj_russell_plays_trance Re: Scooby : Range Rover HSE 4.6 - 30th Jul 2005 5:18pm
go 4 it its the sexyest noise u could ever hear my uncles had about 10 TVRs in his lifetime and they all were beautifull pieces of kit the tusken was a bit rubbish though was constently goin in garage 4 this and that but the griffin, chamearas, and chimeras and ceberas were sound go 4 it!!!!!he seems an honest type of bloke aswell to be fair!!!!
