if i was you mate i'd go for a 2.0 as its only 1 insurance group higher and is about 150bhp i think (not to sure on the figure) where as this is only 125bhp, mines been chipped but i was after a 2.0 just that this one was close and the colour i wanted, i was after a corsa gsi at first but couldnt find a standard one in my price bracket

i know of a red one for sale on mnr, thats a 2.0 an at a gud price

I never said the car is dated. I said the wheels look dated. Like three spokes are "dated" IMO they look like the sorta wheels seen when max power first came out.
And also,the MK3 astras are dated now,so are Escort 6's to a lesser extent. If you look at a mk3 astra its shape lets you know its an early 90s car. Not sayin its shit. The escort cossie is VERY DATED with its square dash but dated cars can be good(GSIs are good).Dated wheels however,IMPO are not.

Mate, get the car up at the back end and check the rear arches out for any specs of rust. In the winter, they rust ferociously if there's the tiniest spec of bare metal. Take the rear quarter panels off the inside (next to the rest seats), you will see if they've started by looking down into the cavity. If they're clean, cover the whole inner arch with waxoyl. The lip under the bonnet also 'goes', loads of stone chips get under there and water collects and away it goes. I just spent an age doing mine (they were completely shot), not a nice job.

BTW, I was paying 1,300 on my GSi, with 0 ncb with Tesco insurance (!!!). I got my finger out and found my old certificates and now pay 650 3yrs ncb with Liverpool Victoria.
