The mighty Honda Snivic is defo for sale now, ive made my mind up. offers around £2000 or swap for a 1 or 1.2 corsa of same value.
Posted By: AX_125 Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 22nd Feb 2006 11:58am
why would you want to swop your civic for a corsa?
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 22nd Feb 2006 1:14pm
insurance. my mates are goin to university next year so we r plannin a holiday and i wont be able to afford it if i keep my civic, if i got a corsa my insurance would drop by about £500 so i can save mony easier. its a pain in the arse havin to get rid of it but its what iv got to do. thumbsdown

quick little update on the MIGHTY SNIVIC: i found some Japanese wheels on this website (www.rarerims.co.uk), all white, imported from Japan. if you go on it, look for the wheels called Flite, let me know what you all think they would look like on my civic. cheers.

CivicBoy the sub box and the amp are both Mutant. very cheap but really good sound and build quality. if you are goin to the cruise on saturday come over and ill show you what it sounds like.

Scoop, im glad you said that, i though it might look a bit rubbish doin the Hs like i did the Civic logo. gona have a quick look on eBay for the Type R badges now. cheers happy

i think the other wheels were much better suited 2 your car, it made it stand out more
Posted By: civic boy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 28th Mar 2006 6:38pm
i agree, but i think if its lowered it'll luk fine on 15's
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 29th Mar 2006 10:02am
the 17s looked better but the 15s are so much better for handling etc. im sort of goin for the JDM look. plus the ride on the 17s was rock hard, with these its dead comfy. im more into ICE than brilliant looks though to be honest.
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 12th Apr 2006 2:38pm
just finished adding more to my install!! heres a list of everything thats in there now:
JVC KDLHX551 headunit
2 sets of Infinity 9613 6x9s
2 10 inch Mutant subs
Mutant 4 channel amp
Mutant 2 channel amp

and i have got a set of Infinty components waiting to go in my front doors.

Install is a bit messy at the minute, hence no pictures but when its done and dusted and all neat and tidy il defo have pics up of it. happy
Posted By: jimbo4x4 Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 12th Apr 2006 6:43pm
Getting to like the JDM look more and more, it's kinda boring until you appreciate the stance of some cars. Install sounds like it's coming along well, look forward to seeing it mate smile
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 13th Apr 2006 7:11pm
i like the subtle look of JDM, its coz i love the euro look so its the same sort of thing really. i think mine looks alrite without being lowered. the install mite take a while, lots of thinkin, making and tinkering needed to make it look as nice as it sounds.
Posted By: scoop Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 13th Apr 2006 7:12pm
it looks alright but does need lowering
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 13th Apr 2006 7:16pm
yeah, il get around to lowering it but at the minute i dont think it looks that high to be honest. its probably to do with everythin thats in the boot.
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 26th Jun 2006 1:10pm
right. an update is needed i think. all my old install has been binned!! i now have my 2 channel mutant amp powering a 12inch Fli sub. i have my bucket seats and harnesses fitted and i have one more little secret modification nearly finished, hopefuly itl be ready for the photo shoot. no pics yet sorry but will have some soon. happy
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 26th Jun 2006 1:12pm
my new plans are to build a bigger better install. i want 3 12inch Fli subs and 3 of the new Fli 2 channel amps. i will get round to lowering it eventually but i have been very very skint the past few months. oh yeah im also buying a big tacho and shift light off scooby.

come on tell us your secret mod fella. or at least give us a clue. i hate waiting
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 26th Jun 2006 2:28pm
okay, i bought my 15s a few months ago and said i wanted to get them painted white. seeing as i dont have the money to take them to sparyforce or anywhere im having a go myself!! got two done so far and im doing the other two 2moro hopefully. putting the two that are done on my car today so if anyone sees me let me know wot u think.

well, i havnt been on for ages and i havnt been to a meet for a good while but now im sorted in uni il hopefully be gettin to the meets and doin more to my car. i know this hasnt got anything to do with my car but just thought id keep my topic alive haha. and i have also entered myself in the car of the year so im taking some pics of my car to put up for everyone who hasnt seen it since i put my white alloys on it. go on give me a sympathy vote!!! grin thumbsup grin
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 15th Nov 2006 4:13pm
ive been thinkin of sellin my car again in the new year to get a saxo vts, but i have changed my mind....again. i now know pretty much what i am getting for the civic in the new year. a lip kit (front and back), lowering springs, short shift and also the stage 1 tuning package from funky power (should give me close to 100bhp then). im also re-painting my alloys, thinkin of goin for gloss black spokes with a red rim. any thoughts welcome.
Posted By: Dazza Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 15th Nov 2006 4:26pm
What power is it standard?
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 17th Nov 2006 12:52pm
its got 88bhp standard. so with an extra 10bhp i should be lookin at saxo vtr type power.
Posted By: scoop Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 17th Nov 2006 12:56pm
what does the stage 1 deely actually comprise of? is urs a vtec engine? 98BHP still aint gonna be up to much like, how much does stage 1 cost?
Posted By: Sanchez Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 17th Nov 2006 7:51pm
how old are you ?
Posted By: Sanchez Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 17th Nov 2006 7:52pm
hey scoop you think a 58bhp ecsrote is powerful so do one.
Posted By: scoop Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 17th Nov 2006 10:03pm
When did i ever say a 58BHP escort was poweful?

a)my old escort was 74BHP (RRd at 71 IIRC)
b)i never "stage 1" tuned my 1.4 just bolted on a cone filter and an exhaust for looks and sound, not performance
c)i dont think any standard escort (other than the cossie) is powerful, that includes the RS2k
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 19th Nov 2006 2:58pm
im 19. and by the way my "not up to much" 88bhp engine has done 125mph in 4th gear, its raced and beat xr2i's, xr3i's, corsa sports, saxo furios, clios and a lot of other hatch backs. the stage one tuning package comprises of a tenzo r cold air induction kit and a performance manifold (cant remember the manufacturer at the minute). oh and im sorry to say this scoop but my little 1.4 has pretty much the same power as most ford 1.6 engines.
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 19th Nov 2006 3:00pm
oh and that stage 1 in inverted commas, i take it you think it was me who called it the stage 1 package, well if you go on funky powers website, youl see that there is a stge one and stage two tuning package available. stage 1 is £325 and stage 2 is £695.
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 19th Nov 2006 3:40pm
heres the link for the tuning package funky power
Posted By: MrPhil Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 19th Nov 2006 3:50pm
4pound per horsepower on a n/a like your is quite good value for money.

is this all your doing to your engine or are their anymore plans?

I dnt think sanchez was refering to you when he asked your age I think it was meant for scoop.
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 19th Nov 2006 4:35pm
oh right, hahaha. i think after this i wont be able to get anymore power out of it so il stop after that. maybe think of an engine swap, b16a if i can afford one!
Posted By: Sanchez Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 20th Nov 2006 11:36am
your best bet would be to get of a b16a engine and chuck it in, you will get it done for £1500 and it will see your car up to 160bhp. and before you strat going on about insurance etc, well lets just say that with that tunning kit etc etc and all the other mods you have your presant insurance is more than likely void so why not chuck the engine in.
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 20th Nov 2006 12:17pm
fair point. its just a lot of money to spend in one go but i suppose it could work out cheaper in the long run. might get in touch with adrian flux or somethin if i swap the engine for the insurance. maybe i should go all out and wedge a h22 engine in it hahaha.
Posted By: Sanchez Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 20th Nov 2006 7:12pm
lol, stuff that bang a k20 init, you ll be the envy of all honda drivers, remember though, with speed you need stopping, so also id advise a hub conversion.
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 21st Nov 2006 9:51am
u know i think i might do that, ive got £4k lying around for an engine hahaha. if i do an engine conversion im gona look at a vti hub conversion, but id have to get new alloys coz vti's are 5 stud hubs.
Posted By: Sanchez Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 21st Nov 2006 9:02pm
no they aint scott, its only the new shape, so its ok, trust me, i ved owned one. shape
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 22nd Nov 2006 10:43am
so does that mean i could get vti disks and pads on my car as it is then?

oh by the way, im thinkin of gettin a bodykit. im gona get the buddy club rear bumper but dont know if i should get the buddy club front or the blitz front.

im guessin you know what the buddy club front bumper looks like.
Posted By: BMW Joe Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 22nd Nov 2006 5:59pm
buddy club front looks well the best to me.

Personally, I don't like the look of the Blitz one at all thumbsdown
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 23rd Nov 2006 9:10am
i like the look of the blitz one but i do actually think the buddy club front bumper suits the EK shape perfectly
Posted By: Sanchez Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 24th Nov 2006 3:03pm
go for the boomex aligator mouth one, its class. and yess, 100% you can do a hub change and its 4 studs.

while im at it il mention my new exhaust. the civic went into Sprayforce to get a new cat-back system. it was done within the day and its exactly what i was lookin for. its 2inch piping from the cat back now as apposed to 1.25inch (i think) as standard, with a twin slashcut inwardly rolled tailpipe. it sounds and looks the dogs danglies!!! cheers to everyone at sprayforce for the amazin work and service (and discount coz of my cruise wirral stickers hahaha). il take some pics when the weathers better.
Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Scotty69: EK Honda Civic - 2nd Feb 2007 4:56pm
ordered a couple of new things for the civic this week.

ordered a set of jap import plates and....lowering springs!!

40mm drop Gmax springs, should be here soon and will hopefully look very nice with my new(ish) 16inch Honda alloys (off the new shape civic i think). almost forgot about my Tenzo R short shifter that i need to get fitted too.
just tryin to sell my sub and amp and then i might buy some other things to.
