Mods so far:

GTR badge and a small install in boot

Future plans:

Cobra seats
Colour co-ordinated steering wheel, hand brake, gear knob, door handles and window winders
New dial kit with rev counter
Maybe a colour co-ordinated dash
14" alloys

Not doing anything to the outsides of it now, just gonna do up the interior, with bits that can be removed and put in to new car next time round.

6 Neon tubes, and still not enought to light the damn boot, anyone selling any neons???

where you gettin your neons from mate ? .... 6 should be more than enough so im guessin the quality of em aint too great ( no offense ).

Id say a single neon decent neon would give you the effect youre lookin for. They have some decent ones in motorworld, not sure if they do em in red, theyre about 8 - 10 inches long approx ( i have two blue ones of these, one in each front footwell, brightness is very good.)

id advise lookin round for a decent one matey, usually has a better effect than numerous small ones scattered all over the place.

ive got 2 pairs of 4" ones and a pair of 12" ones, and they are just red cathode thingies, but as soon as payday comes, im gonna rip them out, go to halfords and get some nice fat ones, because the quality of these ones really is poo lol

ahh cool ....a decent neon glow should really set off the install matey, lookin good.

that install is gonna change too.

I did build it so the 6x9's are set in a side panel with the neons above, and the side panel fit nicely in until i put the speaker in which hit the wheel arch, so i knew i would have to change the design, but that one which my mate designed is just silly lol

so on payday im gettin brighter neons, more wood to change install, and new 6x9's too because them cheap ones sound terrible

iv get the green ones an there really bright

if you got nothing to light up then the red wont show up to well, i got mine under the dash an you can only see them properly when you got your feet in the footwell

so do u suggest having them nearer to the sub/speakers and they would glow a bit more?

go to halfords and buy them big fat bright neons lol

i recomend moving them mate as as they are theyre tryin to light up the world, chuck em under ur dash etc and get proper neon bars for the boot

Get yourself a 6R4 kit mate nobody round here has a metro with the kit on (not road going anyway) it would cost a bit but would look superb.

the interior is getting sprayed bit by bit, and theres my new gear knob too. Its a bit messy but im in the process of ripping bits out to spray and tidy up.

ive looked several times mate, kit for sale is 3 and a half times more than i bought the car for, then theres fitting it labour charges etc..

not worth it, plus wudnt fit in the garage with them wide axles

well the idea was to modernise an old car, and by getting rid of all the borin grey, its sort of doing the job. I just hope the door panels look ok once ive finished them.

Sometimes ya get reds that look faded etc, spot on colour coding there mate!

well when i first started doing the red, it was faded and horrible, and would just peel off, but thats 3 coats of primer and 2 coats of red spray.

middle ones, also, have u laquered ur paint, if not it will come off in a few months if u touch it, take that into account mate, the car deffo needs a kit mate, even if u just chuck a splitter on and cut some holes and mesh em it'd look ace, ill chop an idea for u mate

I think the BK racing (bottom) one's would suit the car best. Dashboard's looking great bud, keep it coming.

i have been lookin for a colour coded GTI kit for it, mesh the wide mouth at the front etc..

And i havent laquered the paint, its all got 2 coats of primer and a coat of red colour

Do I hate to everything ive sprayed out again or doesnt it matter if i get a bit of laquer over things i havent sprayed because its clear isn't it??

well it is clear but its shiny, take it all out again and laquer it mate, if u wanna see wot not laquering it does ill show u my interior handle surrounds, they look crap so theyre out again so i can so em again "green instead of silver"

Personally I think it'll look odd with thin spokes

On the whole small cars look better with thick spokes

Only seen 1 or 2 smaller cars (i.e. Corsa's etc) pull off multi thin spokes

well i dont personally like lots of spokes or too think spokes, but i admit it will look silly with thin spokes or few spokes, so BK ones are top of the list at the mo.

Tonight i have lacquered all my interior spraying too, nice and shiny

I like the wheels in the middle the best.

after finding a few major problems with this car, ive decided that betty has to go, either to a scrapyard or any loon that wants to take it off my hands for a very good price.

I have got a replcement in mind but for now, everything is staying hush hush, its gonna be major though, watch this space.

cos when i tried to copy a certain idea, after ripping the rear interior out, it had no wheel arches, the rear seat belts came off in my hand due to rust, it cud quite easily just snap haha

Unlucky, would love to see a fully done 'tro. Whats next ade?
