Is it the 2.0 litre 16v?

Would look nice with a boot spoiler

The picture aint my car aint bought it yet. should have it in a month or so. hopefully get black or blue. Will be adding a spoiler, alloys, tints and loads of engine stuff. Might need some help with engine bits.

My mate is selling an light blue 8 valve one, about £1500 i think he wants for it.

Cream leather interior, N Reg i think.

Being the 8 valve, it is a bit gutless compared to other 2 litres, but a nice looking car.

8v - happy
Posted By: Cali_16v Re: My new ride. - 7th Jan 2005 1:50pm
8v-115bhp
16v-150bhp (upto 1994)
16v-136bhp (after 1994(ecotec))
turbo-201bhp

Which one do i get??
want the turbo but dont think i can afford it.
Posted By: AX_125 Re: My new ride. - 7th Jan 2005 2:19pm
Doesnt the turbo have 4wd?

I have videos of these thing wasting cossies.

The 16v is quite a good engine, quite high insurance though.

Very nice mate definetly try and get a different colour not seen many black ones, the 2.0 16v is group 14 insurance so quite high!

I had the turbo and yes it is a 4WD. They are very quick in a straight line but don't handle well for a 4WD. The 4WD transfer boxes can let go at any time and will cost a minimum of £1500 to get replaced, usually £2500. Tyres need to be changed in sets of 4 otherwise the transfer box gets fried.

Absolute nightmare. In my opinion i'd stay well clear and get the non turbo 16v version for reliability and cheap maintenance.

Posted By: Anonymous Re: My new ride. - 10th Jan 2005 4:13pm
No offence to your spoiler dj russell but in my opinion i dont think it would suit the car. My ex boyriends cousin used to have one. It was well smart. Black with 18's, i thinkt here were. Really sweet car. All cream leather interior. I think it was a 2ltr, not sure though smack

Well just travelled to the other side of manchester to buy a yellow calibra and they sold it 10 mins before i got there. going to look at another tomorrow. gonna cheat cos its got alloys and some other stuff already.

Get a 136bhp one owned by a grandad and do it all yurself mate, Love the evo spoiler idea(same as mine)It would be so easy to tune the 136 to 150+ and the car/engine will both be newer
Just get ram air,Full exhaust inc manifold and decat then a mappable ecu and ur lookin at 160, maybe more and a wonderful noise
Otherwise the calibras are smart IMO and only need subtle body and chassis mods. Suspension change inc strutbrace and nice 17-18s with big brakes.Add the evo spoiler and some skirts and extend the origional bumpers custom style and ur sorted.
What are your plans mate. Jap/euro/subtle/street racer(mmmm wud suit it)/F&F or what
Posted By: Cali_16v Re: My new ride. - 15th Jan 2005 5:00pm
Well power might be an issue coz looks like im going to have to go 8v after all. i know its only 115 bhp (boo-hoo) but its the same car just less power.
