Seat Alhambra Petrol 2lt.
Anyone had similar problem? cheers

Need to turn engine over several times for 15 or 20 seconds. Has a couple of attempts at starting like it fires once on one cylinder. With foot hard to the floor on accelerator it finally stutters fires a few times then starts. Once started it seems to run ok and restarts ok . Possibly fuel not getting through or draining from filter or fuel lines when been standing. (no obvious signs of petrol underneath car)
Been standing for 4 hours since last started and it fired and started first time. Seems to be when been left standing for day or so.

Check for air leaks in the induction system, vacuum lines etc.

What year, what mileage?

Thanks dd.. 2001 and has high mileage 145700 but engine is still sweet.
For ages their has been a funny hissing sound coming from somewhere within dashboard which seemed to go with accelerating (thought at first it was interference on the radio but its not). Been a bit louder lately.

Just been out and it started ok. Definite hiss when just turn key in ignition and don't try to start. Hiss fluctuates with the engine when ticking over, . mystery
