Anyone used any online secondhand spares suppliers? Seems a bit of a pain having to drive around our local scrap car yards trying to find if they have the right make model and year and then having the right tools with you to remove it.. Have done it in the past. Looking for 2000 Berlingo Multispace tailgate opening mechanism and a front wiper motor.
Search the car you're after on ebay then sort by price: lowest first. Usually theres breakers yards offering a wheel bolt for like a quid but then in the ad say message them for a quote and request for specific parts. Can usually find some decwnt deals that way. Though im still after some roof rack covers which nowhere seems to have!!
I have used the on line spares sites and had nothing but problems with wrong parts being sent, faulty parts, and when you want a refund, well it's impossible, I needed a door mirror for my focus yesterday drove to cleveland street went in the first scrappy I came to they took a mirror off the shelf I checked it was ok and job done.
Going to the local scrappy is still the best way to get second hand parts.
cheers guys. Did find a specific part on ebay (wiper switch) and they phoned me to check correct serial number etc which was good of them. Wasn't the switch in the end but the motor. Will see if ringing round a few local scrappies is any good.
Try Borough Road, they'll probably have one in.
Wirral spares fish, they remove the parts for you and will call you when ready.
I've used Wirral spares a few times now and found them helpful and inexpensive. Parking's a bit tricky there, that's the only problem.
Yeah, Wirral Spares/Borough Road - they are a pleasure to deal with everytime, as opposed to every other scrapyard/breakers on the Wirral.
