I can't speak for Vauxhall but on Peugeots the lower BHP diesels have a priming bulb on the fuel line in the engine bay. Larger BHP engined models don't have this and have a lift pump in the tank instead.
Have you had a diagnostic check done to see if there are any fault codes present?
