Your not honestly going to fit used brake pads are you.
yep,
a mate bought them for his corsa but they where the wrong fitment.(he needed 06 on)
No responsible garage would fit used brake pads nor should you think of doing so if you are selling to someone
Pads should be fitted in axle sets NOT pairs, hence when buying them new there are 4 in the box.....
We are all driving on used brake pads. Mine happen to be about 5 years old
Aren't you missing the point...He is suggesting putting used pads from another car onto his car so that he can get it passed on the MOT having already accepted a deal to sell his car providing it is MOTd
Would you be happy if were the the buyer and you were made aware of this
Do they not check brakes for MOT?
If the pads have worn uneven then the sliders are probbebly stuck common fault

That is why he is asking about pads which have been used on another car
If the pads pass the MOT it dont matter if he got them off Ebay, his Aunt Fanny or his neighbours daughters silver cross pram.
If they pass, they pass; what more can the buyer ask?
the cost of a cheaper end set of pads, around £10 why would you use second hand ?
love this thread.
:-) :-) :-)
the pads where bought for a newer car but didnt fit. so besides the rears being covered in copper grease. There as new.
on another point
Has anyone ever fitted part worn tyres....
There is a tyre dealer in Birkenhead who sells tyres with side wall repairs...... not my idea of safety.
:-) :-) :-) :-)
to my knowledge sidewall repairs are not legal, don't touch them !
