I heard this on the radio today.
From today if your found using a mobile phone while driving the penalty is going up from £60 to £100.
Tail Gating on the motorway is now a fixed Penalty Fine.
But as it was said on the Radio it could damage Traffic Polices reputation with motorists. If you get done and others around you don't that can be unfair and also it was highlighted that this tail gating was open to interpretation as it would be the judgement of the officer and not a fixed min distance to be deemed to close.
Im not sure if they also mentioned hogging the Middle Lane also? They did i found the source Click me
