After yet another call out to the AA, the cam belt has snapped, causing damage to the engine. Is this fixable, and at what cost??

if its 8valve your in luck as it does no damage if it snaps just a case of setting timing and put new belt on and away you go.
Would that be the same in the case of an 8 valve Ford Fiesta mark V? Cheers!
It is a 1.6 engine, if that helps
It's going to be costly,, bent valves maybe damaged pistons
It's a cylinder head off job then a trip to an engine reconditioner to change any bent valves and pressure test, new gaskets and water pump amd timing belt.
Plus 8 hours labour @ £40 if your lucky
I wold say £800 plus vat
All for the cost of a rubber belt and 2 hours to fit its called preventative maintainance amd changed around every 60,000 miles

Pm me the full reg and i will tell you if its 16v or 8v
Yours is a 16valve, that is not what you wanted to here.
I bought one a while back with the same problem, bought a whole new engine for £100 and got a friend to fit it, I found it was alot cheaper to just replace the engine, if you know someone that will do it for you for cheap then i think that's the best option
hi poor pebbles what year an reg an engine size is it mite have spare one here for u
It is an 03 reg and a 1.6 engine size. Anyway, it is making its way to the car heaven today. Too much to repair!
