My cd player in the car has started jumping and skipping tracks, especially more when travelling to work on the motorway
its driving me mad! the radio is working fine, just wondered if anyone knows if its a costly repair or would it be cheaper to buy a new one and pay to have it fitted?

It seems worse when I play my homemade discs as opposed to pre-recorded discs.......

re-burn your home made disks they are probably scratched or just passed it!
Mine does this quite often with home made ones
your player is probably ok

also, burn your cds a slower than usual

i always find that a disc that has been burnt at max speed will have problems playing, lower the speed and it will play fine

Get a can of compressed air and give the CD slot a quick blast.
