could anyone give advice my brother has a convertible mini which both footwells are wet tempature gauge rising to the max and no hot air through heaters coolent was topped up and less then 24 hours it was empty someone said it could be heater matrix any advice gratefull thanks

I would agree. From your desciption, a leaking heater matrix - or connections thereto is a prime suspect. Any "sweet" smell to the wet stuff in the footwells ? If so, it's engine coolant and the only way that can enter the interior is via the heater assy.

When you say empty do you mean just the header tank or the whole system?

From what I remember It's an easy job on them, matrix comes out in passenger footwell??

did one a while ago, can't of been that bad to do as i don't remember much about it!!

theres a great mini specialist for things like this in formby right next to tescos on the bypass . been there years , minis is his big big thing . mike is the man !
