as above my astra g 1.7 cdti 05 reg, wont start in the mornings without me rolling it down the road and bump starting it after that its fine even if you turn it off stright after bumping it it starts fine runs like a dream,no codes from op-com driving me mad now
I Had the same problem with my corsa,So i bought a new battery from euro parts online and they delivery to the house next day.
Now my car start ok now. But it took me over a hour to swap it when 1o years ago it would have took 10 mins to do.
The battery was cheap to buy cost me £41.95 in total
Yep, sounds like your bat.
dont think so it cranks over fine and is new plus you can see the green light, you can keep the key turned for a good 30 secs? just wont start till bumped
ok ok so does the car turn over in the morning but no ignition or is it completely dead hen you come to it?
yep car turns over fine all as normal just wont start till bumped, checked glow plugs fine, filter fine,op-com no faults?
Might be worth checking your erg valve as they get really dirty and can cause all manner of starting problems..
yep its been done about a 2 months ago was cloged up very bad
Im fresh out of ideas then, u might have to taking it to a garage.
thanks anyway, just been out now and it started fine
if this is diezle it could be your glow plugs
Is there a glow plug relay on the Astra? There is on Peugeots and that is a common fail item.
I know it's a bit of a treck, but I always take my Vauxhall to Andy Stockton in Widnes. He is an independent Vauxhall specialist and usually uses the OPCOM to confirm his diagnosis, rather than make it. He knows the cars inside and out, gives excellent service and is good value.
As I said, I know it's a bit far away, but he's never failed to fix my 'problem' zafira, so he's my first port of call and to be honest, the only reason I'd buy another zaf.
A common problem with diesels (certainly astras) is leakoff pipes. They make starting a real problem and some garages replace everything first before checking them. If you park overnight with the car pointing down a hill, does it start any easier?
These often suffer from diesel pump faults.
Is the engine management light on?
ive got op-com no faults? i thought only the 2.0 lt diesels had leak off pipes, its not the glow rely i have loads of them i have another engine so if stoneycroft diesels can tell what it is on monday might be a chaep fix, will let you no how i get on
Air leak in the diesel system?
i was thinking that,on my way to stoneycroft today hope they can sort it
ok kids stoneycroft changed the cam sensor Monday and its started first time every time since, will keep an eye on it this week but i think its sorted, will report back friday
ok update people car has been starting all week now without fail.so it was the cam sensor hope this helps someone else
