Hopeing MrHanky or Chris Gilly sees this.

I have found an engine on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251025026644?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1427.l2649 I would like to buy it, but it says it's mk3 punto 2004 to 2006 engine.

Mine is a mk2 2001 punto, I would like to know if it would fit straight in mine, I think the engine mounts are different, but that's not a big problem, I can swap them for mine.

1st pic is my engine mk2
2nd pic is mk2 from different angle
3rd pic is the engine I am wanting

I would just like to know, if it's just a case of swap engine mounts, put my ecu on it, connect it all up, and bobs ya uncle and fannys ya aunt, away I go.

I have asked on a punto forum, but to be honest I think they don't know there heads from there rears.

£200 plus is quite a lot to pay out on the off chance it might not fit.

might be wrong but i would have thought quite unlikley to work with you car as when you plug scanners in to them perameters are totaly different so senors ect will be different
might be wrong but think it would be a gamble

looks similar but would be hard to tell unless looking weather they are identical in terms of block !!

just make sure to check all the mounts like power steering and altenator etc along with engine mounts also

power steering is electric, the motor is to the right of steering.

I know i would have to use my own engine mounts.

Everthing looks the same apart from engine mount, cam belt end. And it does not look like the 16 valve engine, it has the same manifold as mine which is 8 valve, and from what i can see all the sensors are in same place as mine, as long as i fit my ecu on to back top of throttle housing, where it is on mine, the wiring pluge for it on new engine are in same place.

I personally think it will be the same, but I welcome any opions for of against, it will help me make the decision.

No, the top pic is just a guide to show what mine is like, am looking to do it on 22nd, if this new engine will fit, and i say the 22nd, because i want to paint new engine before i put it in, and get all oil seals and head gasket etc etc all changed before i drop new one in.
