im wondering if anyone knows if its easy to change the front suspension on a mk2 xr2

not too bad, remember to use spring clamps as there under loads of tension, enough to take your hand off and more than likely you'll need a buzz gun to take the top mount off, or a crows foot ring spanner 17mm or 19mm and an allen key

What parts are you trying to change?
Everythings easy if you put your mind to it and have the right tools.

If youre changing the spring on the std struts, then you will need to do as Chris said.

If you are swapping a complete sturt out for another complete unit, its dead easy

Any pics of said XR2? These are pretty rare now....

the only part im missing is the original stereo

You need spring clamps, I can borrow you mine.
One tricky bit is the possible seized bolts in that area.
