I have aquired a spoiler for my car, i have removed all old paint and took it back to bare, what is the correct way to spray it to get a nice shine to it, thanks
Hi willo, is it hard plastic or rubber?
its not rubber, and i dont think its plastic, as if i sand it its like sanding filler,
Must be like fibreglass, I'm unsure how to prep that before spraying as I've never sprayed fibreglass before.
i have it all nice and smooth now, now i have never used plastic primer b4, but i had a can i got from boot sale, but when i spray it it comes out like a clear liquid no colour to it, and it dont stick to any thing so maybe its off, as i say the spoiler is all nice and smooth, i was thinking just spray it with high build primer, do i sand down between coats, and inbetween coats of the black, as i tryed to spray my front wing and its come out really dull like matt.
Your wings come out Matt as it needs sanding down then buffing then polishing,
Use high build primer, 3 coats, then sand down, then spray black 3 coats, then laquer 2 coats, leave till next day, sand down using 1200, buff using G3 then polish 3 times for a mirror finish. (buffer required).

Painting GRP is just like everything else, key it up, prime, and paint
That would be pretty awkward to use, you need the type with the handle on...
Taking the top handle off is advisable though.
