Been confirmed today, the WRC is changing BIG TIME... and not too late either. Well get more drivers, teams and manufacturers. Basically, the standard of driving will have to increase, cars WILL be driven sideways (Whats that Mr Loeb, you dont like sideways??)

In 2011, all new homologations of Super 2000 cars must be fitted with a 1600cc turbo engine. In addition, from 2011 Super 2000 cars (both 1600cc turbo and 2000cc normally aspirated variants) and Group N cars will be eligible to compete in the WRC and all FIA Regional Rally Championships.

The Current Crap WRC cars are being fased out. Not that anyone will miss them, with their only being 2 actually competing in it (Citroen C4 and Ford Focus). This is great news for the sport, as costs will be dramatically reduced, and other marques will be joining, such as Proton, Skoda, Dacia etc etc

A drop in cost may eventually bring Subaru and Mitsubishi back into the sport, but they will have to use an N/A 2.0 engine, or a turboed 1.6. Neither of which I think they produce atm.

You already know my views on that BigMac wink

At least this is a step closer. The S2000 cars sound fecking superb, No Turbos..revving to around 8,500. Well never see the power of Group B, not for a few years anyway. But this is closer to good old colin wanted.

N/A, Big Power cars that have to be driven sideways. Make them louder, so it safer for spectators on the stages. Can hear them coming easily raftl
