The safety car has been called into action a number of times already during this season’s Formula One championship, and on a few occasions its deployment has indirectly helped decide the winner of the race. In WTCC, however, it seems the safety car takes a more active role.

I saw this last night raftl

Apparently, even though the track was prepared for a safety car session, the safety car itself wasnt prepared..so the driver, without command, shot out of the pits to try and collect them, unfortunately Engstler had no idea this was about to happen as no-one had a Safety Car board out...BOOM..

Not the first time weve seen a safety car crash though...

TBH The first one is the fault of the Safety car driver - hes not doing enough speed and pulls on to the racing line right after a blind corner.

The second crash is the drivers going far too fast for the Yellow flags / SC board.

Im sure a few points and fines where issued after that little hoo-har!
