Few pics from the first race meeting of the season smile

I did 2 races, started 18th and finished 11th in the first race - had a great battle which saw me come out on top, with an Escort Cosworth omg

2nd race, started 9th, finished 10th after a camber arm failure made me limp home for the last 2 laps frown Still had a ggod race with an SD1 V8 Rover which saw us swap places a few times for a few laps before my problem got so bad I had to slow... frown

I was also 4.5 secs a lap faster round Oulton this year grin

raftl

A tinited visor is on my shopping list!

Later in the day the sun was blinding as you dropped down the Avenue in to Cascades - I missed the apex consistently due to being dazzled frown

Tinted Visors are usually a must, if not because they just look cool laugh

I wouldnt get a coloured one though, stick with black. Multi colour ones tend to have a poor finish, nd get damaged very easily happy

I should have realised that after Silverstone....

Thing is, in a tin top, the visor is up and the roof and sun strip generally keep the sun off you but as I found at Silverstone (late in the year) and Oulton (Early in the year) - if your race is late in the day the sun is low enough to dazzle frown

A couple of the guys I race with have tinted visors and although they donw lower them all the way, they use them like a peaked cap and look under the visor whilst that takes tha glare from the sun.

Like i said last night, one day itll be me hooning round a race track in some sort of road based tin top!

Whats Oulton like to race? It looks good but bumpy.

Oulton is one of the most technical circuits in the UK. Many drivers favourite because it requires thought and skill to go quickly round there and to pull off darig overtaking manouveres. Also, it looks nice laugh

I think a trackday may well be in order for Oulton smile

You should all come Oulton on Easter monday... Advanced Tickets are £16 I thin...on the gate is £20...bit steep..but you get to see the British GT championship.. British F3... British Formula Ford (aka us laugh ) VW Cup and Ginettas.....

gonna be some brilliant racing... actual overtaking unlike F1 happy
