My guess is 8000k, as they look more blue than white

6000k is better for the MOT and police friendly ive been lookin at HIDs for mine and most of the companys recommend 6000k max to be legal..

Ive always had 6000's - they do have a slight blue-ish tint smile

4300 offer most light, the higher temperature you go the more blue / purple they go and you lose light.

AutoExpress HID Test

The link above is a short video explaining problems with HID conversions.

I wouldnt mind getting a HID kit for Le alfa.. but Im sick and tired of being blinded by everyone behind me who has them..and dont want to become one of those.

If the car didnt come with HID bulbs...then I dont think its wise to buy a set for what, £300 ??

Its all to do with the beam pattern produced.

It says that fitting them can make the beam pattern blurred and bleed light.

If the beam pattern is crisp, and you pass an MOT, there is no issue.

That artical is also a few years old now (I remember seeing it the first time) and the kits have improved.

If you do fit a kit, best bet is to get it checked with an MOT station to see if the beam pattern is OK smile
