Spotted a 1999 Vectra SRI 2.5 V6 for £200

MOT'd til April 2009

Unfortunately subject to a Cat C Write-Off, but all it needs is a front passenger door (checked with VOSA)

No pic of the door in question, buts its 5 inch dent front window to bump strip (down middle)

Therefore, will also need a VIC check

Question is.... Should I buy it?

£200 it's one hell of a bargain

Just waiting for the new owner of the omega to collect that

Hmm, i really do feel a purchase coming

Exactly the same spec as I have been looking for too.

Would just had to swap a door over and take it for VIC in Liverpool

Hmm costs....

£50 door
£38 VIC

Tax £101.75 (6 months)

Insurance.... about 700-900 dependant on company

With it requiring a VIC, would i need to do the MOT again ? (expires Apr 09)

Forget that

A new MOT is required after a VIC has been performed, before the vehicle is legally allowed back on the road

Another £30 to £40 then

Still.... not too bad. £100 to get it back on the road before tax and insurance

Need to see the car / pics.

Have the pillars been damaged for it to be "C" rather than a "D" think

Id buy it. But i have a soft spot for these and theyre not too common either.

If you buy it, it deserves a straight through exhaust, the noise of these is enough to get the hairs on your neck to stand!

Going on from this

To move it home I will be using Short Term insurance, ie 1 day - £15

When it comes down to moving it to Liverpool for its VIC.
Is it safe to assume that I can use Short Term again to do this ?

As obviously it needs to be insured to be moved there (if driven), and it needs to be able to be driven into the centre under its own power.
