Hi, anyone on here owned one of these?

[Linked Image]

Been offered one cheap but has a starting fault, sounds like it wants to start but won`t.

Need to know if its worth buying at £200?

The car is in exellent condition, mettalic green and auto, 3.5 litre 2 door coupe with original BBS alloys and cloth interiour.

Is it worth buying?

I don`t know the year as it`s on pp.

Its a bargan, providing it is what you say it is, the bbs alloys alone are worth near that.

Easy worth the money!!

These are now classics and should easily be worth 10x that!!!

All bits should be easy to get hold of, as IIRC the engine is very similar to the 2.5 straight 6 motors in the E30s smile

If you need it fixing or lookin at give me a shout.I have owned plenty of E28s(5 series) which the 6 was loosely based on.The engine is the the M30(not the ones fitted in E30s) They are simple engines and very strong...
Posted By: chris bmw M3 Re: BMW 635 CSi.? - 18th Dec 2008 10:40am
I think I still have some spare "service" parts for these...somewhere in my garage! happy

There are only really 3 things that stop these running/starting.Chances are it will be one of these... hammer

Obviously the engine itself is different, but I thought most of the electronics where interchangable - like dizzys, sensors, MAFs etc.... - as it sounds like something like that has failed.. think

Who are you buying it off? Sounds a bit like the Starion to be honest. If it doesn't start it could be anything, wiring, ECU, etc.

AFM and dizzy dont fit Stu, this is mainly due to the physical difference in size of the blocks. The M30 engine is huge compared to the M20 in the E30...Parts that are interchangeable include, oil filters,plugs...and that's all I can think of to be honest lol

The car will still start with the afm knackered, but won't rev...does it live yet????

Not sure mate, spent a late night in the garage with plenty of carlsberg laugh cleaned out the fuel intake, took all leads off, cleaned the plugs, replaced leads, reconnected air flow meter, threw in £20 worth of fuel and soaked the pistons with petrol.
Took all plugs out and turned it over for a bit. Someone must of thought it was the immoboliser as its been ripped out and is in the boot. think
Maybe the firing order was wrong? lol

been out in it today, great cars!
