Ford looks set to sell Jaguar and Land Rover to India's Tata Motors.

A memo to workers at UK plants said discussions were at a "detailed level".

The two brands employ about 16,000 workers in the Midlands and Merseyside.

Tata is said to want to keep all three factories.

But unions want pledges on job security and wages.

Unite's Tony Woodley said: "It must be discussed before any final decision."

Hehe the deal also includes the Rover brand... so by 2009 people believe we will see a return of Rover in the EU as it's still a well respected brand, especially on the continent.

This deal has been going on for ages, its about time it went through.

I dont think they will be made in India Rhys, just owned by an Indian Company...

I just hope they dont follow the "British Leyland" way about things and start building them right.

.....I bet their customer service centers wont be UK based though raftl
