Does anyone know how to fit a tacho to my D7f DIET engine? To be able to fit an instrument cluster from a higher spec model you need to get the tacho converted to take a signal from the eDIS module used in my car, which proves expensive.

So, I was thinking just to buy a 52mm gauge and pod, but fitting it will be the issue. Apparently you take the signal from the coil pack but I’m not too sure how.

Any advice would be great,

The instuctions supplied with the Tacho kits are usually pretty good, and there are only a couple of connections on a coil, so even trial and error shouldnt take too long smile

Sound, I've read on other sites false readings are quite common using the coil, ie 1/2 reading or double reading.
Suppose there is only one way to find out eh!?

My mate was looking at one on a 205GTi and the car was passed to him from another garage.

It was only reading 50% - Ill try and find out what he did to get it working if you have a problem wink
