Like it says on the tin, this event will be a point to point time trial. However this is a marathon not a sprint as the course in mind is 89 miles long.

start / finish point and times will be given to those who enter the competition or diclosed at a later date along with rules.

£5 entry per car with no restrictions on passengers (except no more than five in a five seater etc lol)

Prizes :

  • 1st - £40 Plus MidnightRacing Gold Trophy
  • 2nd - £15 Plus MidnightRacing Silver Trophy
  • 3rd - £5 Plus MidnightRacing Bronze Trophy

Pm if you wish to enter your car or anyone you know who wishes to enter.

(Prize money will rise as more entries are made)

When you say its a Marathon and not a sprint, whats to stop me sprinting the full 89 miles ??

Looks like its going to be somit like this ?

[Linked Image]

Is first prize for the first person to finish in the fastest time ? if so then its not a marathon, its a race or sprint......

£40 is buttons mate, wont even cover my fuel for the day, you need some wagers put in place to beef it up a little.

Like the idea but needs some carefull considerations think

prize fund was decided on before we got any entrance fee's

Chris Cav is organising the event, I'm just spreading the word

Sounds like a good idea but the price money suggested is a load of balls. Unless the trophies you get are actual gold, silver and bronze and not plastic. With MNR tho i can see it turnin into a spectator sport with millions of peeps lining the course near the start end points. The police arent goin to get onto that are they? think

An organised "rally", with prizes, even if not any sort of time trial, requires a permit issuing from the MSA (Motorsports Association) which are only organised through registered motor clubs.

Im guessing this is not through the MSA, and no permit has been issued, therefore all cars involved will be in very serious trouble if caught, not to mention what could happen to the organisers think

meesh, you do realise that if any one is killed on these event then the organisers are held responsible for man slaughter. Think about what you are doin.

Meesh, promoting the event is just as bad as organising it in the eyes of the law.

Not bein funny, but this thing sounds totally naff, theres no way anyone would wana enter that if u had a decent/nice car.

uv got every change of bein pulled over and gettin banned from drivin, or killin urself or someone else, id be suprised if there was a big turn out of people enterin to race, especially if its on public roads.

No thanks il give it a miss!

If there are gona be bets made, il put £5 on Barry in the Nova 1.4 SR (no offence to Nova drivers) with the wheel trim spinners to win cheers.

just shows the level of mentality of some cruisers now days. no wounder the police are the way they are. if it wasn t for complete bird brains like this, there would be little horrasment or police presence at events etc.

here, have a read of this, Click Me
this was taken from the law and order section about street racin, r.i.p. stuy macs mates racin challanger.

It would appear Cruisewirrals members are not in support of the illegal organised street racing event.

Personally i dont condone it as innocent people could be injured very very easily.

I am supprised by the responce from CW members, guess you guy's n gal's are more sensable than i thought think

Any suggestion how an event like this could be staged but without racing and speed ??
Posted By: Den Re: 10th Sept - MNR Point-To-Point Rally Tour - 14th Aug 2005 12:23pm
set brackets for each stage, so for example the road to stage 2 from stage 1 is 40 mph limit and is 12 miles apart, the bracket from one end to the other would be 8 mins or so, and if u run faster than 8 minutes ur disqualified? this would also mean any car could win it. may drag races run similar systems to allow any car to race any car without a great advantage
Posted By: Scooby Re: 10th Sept - MNR Point-To-Point Rally Tour - 14th Aug 2005 12:32pm
Yeah, i was thinking somit like that, have check points along the way and points lost for being too late and too early. Bit like a treasure hunt type of thing with clues along the way for ther next checkpoint ??
Posted By: Meesh Re: 10th Sept - MNR Point-To-Point Rally Tour - 14th Aug 2005 6:39pm
Lookin like thats the way Chris is runnin it, penalising drivers who arrive too early or too late
Posted By: Scooby Re: 10th Sept - MNR Point-To-Point Rally Tour - 14th Aug 2005 7:46pm
possibly 2 points dropped for every minute early and only 1 point dropped for every minute late, that way its NOT beneficial to break the speed limits at all.

Responsable attitude is needed for this event in my opinion.
Posted By: StuyMac Re: 10th Sept - MNR Point-To-Point Rally Tour - 14th Aug 2005 9:12pm
Why dont MNR just get their members to save up a few pennies and orgaise a track day smile

Save, legal, and a full day of track action for around £100 - surely that cant be as expensive as a ruck of points, maybe a ban and the fine that comes with them smile
Posted By: John WRX Re: 10th Sept - MNR Point-To-Point Rally Tour - 15th Aug 2005 12:39am
Best thing to do is do it by miles covered and not the actual time it takes to get from A to B.
does anyone know when this is taking place?
