Wallasey Central Library will be hosting World Book Night on April 23rd.

On the 23rd April, Wallasey Central Library will be holding World Book Night. Starting at 5.30pm FREE BOOKS will be given away in Earlston Park [weather permitting]. Also, at 5.30pm, there will be a jazz/swing trio performing inside the library. From 6.30pm, John Hoyland will be giving a talk on Steinbeck's The Grapes Of Wrath. Both of these are FREE too.
The Friends will be running a book table, refreshments and a raffle too.

How did it go?

Hi Rude! Very well thanks. We gave away lots of free books. Hopefully, many of the people who picked up a book are those that wouldn't usually do so. We also raised over £100 for the library. Thanks to everyone who came. Public libraries are under constant threat these days, so the more people we can get through the doors, the better.
