Description
Founded in 1797 to provide a meeting place, where ideas and information could be exchanged in elegant surroundings, this beautiful building continues to fulfil its function. The Athenaeum has had many distinguished proprietors, including William Roscoe. Visit the splendid Newsroom, the well-stocked library, the newly refurbished Dining Room and the stunning elliptical staircase.

Directions
Located in Liverpool city centre close to Marks & Spencer and Primark just off Church Street

Public Transport Details
2 minutes walk from Liverpool Central train station and 10 minutes walk from Liverpool Lime Street train station. Close to Queen Square bus station and Paradise Street bus station

Access
There is a lift to all floors but there are 4 steps in the foyer and top floor.

Additional Information
Numbers limited to 20 people at a time. The Athenaeum will be open on Sunday 18th September, 1100-1515 (please note that last admission for tours is 1415).
